To provide support during UNGA 79 to ensure that UN grounds passes (photo & non-photo) are processed and issued in a timely manner to facilitate access of all clients to UNHQ premises. This will be accomplished by using the Ccure-9000 badging system.

Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbents will be responsible for the following duties related to UN ID card application validations during the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA-79): The incumbent must receive all applicants for grounds passes to include Ministers, Ambassadors, Delegates, Staff, Media, NGOs and others. This will be on a frequency of 250 to 350 persons daily. The incumbent will review all documentation provided by the applicant to substantiate the issuance of a United Nations ID card. The incumbent will ensure the following; the validity of the supporting documentation; verify the category of the UN ID card to be issued and determine the level of access to be granted; ensures that all applications are signed by an authorized signatory and verify the identity of the applicant by reviewing a government issued picture ID, such as a passport or driver’s license and determine the validity of the picture ID presented. The incumbent must ensure the professional, expedient and efficient processing of ID cards for high-level UN officials, high-level government officials and celebrities. The incumbent will be required to interface with focal-point personnel of Permanent Missions, UN Departments, UN Agencies, Funds, Programs and Organizations, as well as VIPs, via telephone or most often by direct interaction, to provide advice on procedures on how to obtain the proper UN ID card or for general guidance. The incumbent must establish and maintain a professional working relationship with the Liaison Office of Member states, ASGs USGs, the respective Executive Officers and Heads of Departments in-order to understand the functions of their respective Offices with a view of being able to provide the relevant client services as it relates to the issuance of United Nations grounds passes.
Qualifications/special skills
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in general office support or related area is required. Relevant experience within the UN Secretariat, UN Common System or other international organization is desirable. Experience with processing and issuance of identification cards, especially using CCURE badging system, is also desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
