Duties and Responsibilities

Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Chief, Secretariat to the Governing Bodies (SGB), the individual contractor will perform the following specific tasks:
Take and produce high quality and visually compelling photos at major events of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs and the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice;
Upload selected photos to a shared storage space on the day of the meeting, for immediate use on social media platforms;
Upload all edited photos to a shared storage space no later than 2 calendar days after each meeting.

Qualifications/special skills

Advanced University degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in communications, public relations or social sciences is required, a first-level university degree in similar fields in combination with an additional 2 years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree;
Technical or vocational training in photography is desirable;
A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the field of photography is required;
Experience with electronic/computer-based editing and design is required;
Experience within the UN system or similar international organizations is desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the UN Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English (oral and written) is required;
Knowledge of other official UN languages is an advantage.
