Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities Under the general direction of the Supply and Inventory Management Supervisor of the Safety and Security Service of the UN Headquarters, the individual contractor will be responsible for the following duties: • Assist in conducting physical verification of property plant and equipment (equipment, assets, inventory and heritage assets), by electronic scanning of the barcode numbers, batch numbers and physical verification of specific attributes (serial no, location, user accountable, condition, etc.). • Assist with data reconciliation of the physical verification exercise between various databases, ERP (Umoja) and tracking files like Microsoft excel spreadsheets. • Assists in conducting physical inspections and quality control of United Nations Property to ensure that all items are accounted for and in serviceable condition. • Assist in the establishment of dedicated storage areas for different categories of items including uniforms, safety gear, and emergency equipment. • Assist in setting up secure storage for high-value items to prevent loss or damage. • Assist in the cost-recovery process by ensuring that all items provided to external clients are accurately tracked and billed. • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supply and Inventory Management Supervisor.
Qualifications/special skills
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in general office support or related area is required. Experience in the use of Microsoft Excel is required. Experience in general warehouse support or related area is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required.
