Information on KFOR/the Job position
The NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR) is deployed in Kosovo to help maintain a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all citizens, irrespective of their ethnic origin. KFOR is part of the wider international effort to build peace and stability in the area. HQ KFOR is based in Film City, Pristina.
The DOS Branch, as part of the HQ KFOR structure, advises COS KFOR in administrative matters pertaining to the Command Group and the staff and provides an important element of continuity within the HQ structure.
Under the supervision of the Director of Staff (DOS) the post holder will lead the following activities in KFOR: Implementing ACO IKM Policy, developing KFOR HQ specific concepts and KFOR SOP-s, coordinating IKM activities; facilitating functional services across the HQ, supporting KFOR entities, supporting staff work and performs other activities in the context of capacity building efforts.

The candidate must have the ability to establish efficient and appropriate courses of action to accomplish goals. The candidate must be able to maintain professional contacts at a higher functional level and have good negotiation skills.
The Essential and Desirable education, experience and skills requirements are:
– Bachelor’s degree in a computer related subject such as management information systems, information science, library or computer science
– A minimum of 5 years overall experience in the area of information and knowledge management and/or in the application of management of information processing techniques to include:
a. Development and promotion of the strategy and policies covering the design and upkeep of information structures and taxonomies;
b. Experience in business process analysis and project management;
c. Use of collaborative management tools (e.g. time management software, knowledge management systems, SharePoint, client portals);
d. The co-ordination of information strategy matters within a large organisation
Desirable:
– Master’s degree in a computer related subject such as management information systems, information science, library or computer science
– A minimum of 12 months experience of information management in a military or international organization/company
Language Skills: very good level of English language.

This position is a Mission Civilian (MCIV) level 5 position. The post holder will work in HQ KFOR at Film City, Pristina, Kosovo.
The starting salary for MCIV-5 is 6,051.00 € per month (exempt from local taxation).

Before any appointment is confirmed, the preferred candidate will be required to obtain a NATO Security Clearance and to successfully pass a medical examination certifying fitness to work.
The successful candidate will be offered a 12-month contract which may be renewed yearly up to a maximum period of six years and subject to satisfactory performance and the continued operational need/funding for the position.
