ABOUT THE JOB

The overall objective of the Information Management Officer (IMO) is to collect operational statistics from all DRC-HDP MA teams/projects and enter the operational data/statistics into the relevant DRC-HDP database and support with MAPA IPs IMSMA data inputting/reports; prepare HMA-required GIS maps and maintain close coordination and communication with MAPA IPs on IMSMA-related issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the operations department in analyzing the statistics data sent from the field.
  • Support the MIS section of MAPA three days a week, while supporting from DRC offices two days a week, for data inputting into IMSMA.
  • Update the main operations database and keep relevant reports stored on the shared drives & DRC OneDrive to be accessed by relevant staff.
  • Prepare standard monthly IMSMA reports in a timely manner for DRC-HDP operations, and send them to relevant NMAA ROs
  • Maintain operation data backup every week on the hard disk.
  • Collect required information from the IMSMA system according to the needs of the operation department.
  • Work as a liaison between the DMAC MIS section and HDP field command staff in regard to inaccuracies in terms of field documentation e.g. completion reports, NTS, or cancellation.
  • Design and provide maps when required for donors, proposals, DMAC and DRC-HDP operation reports.
  • Liaise with the DMAC/MIS section with the instructions of HMAM related to the GIS map.
  • Co-operate and assist the DRC-HDP operation department, TA and Regional MAM to provide the map.
  • Configure and Update MAPA Land Release and EORE Prioritization Indicators using IMSMA and GIS Analysis.
  • Provide training to DRC-HDP field command staff in terms of reporting, IMSMA forms, or GIS mapping where required.
  • Oversee the administration and maintenance of national mine action databases and associated reporting tools.
  • Plan, design, develop and maintain new and existing databases including modification, testing and implementation of data scripts.
  • Provide programmatic guidance to team members and ensure that all database programming adheres to the specified requirements and best practices.
  • Running DQC tools and provide evidence-based data analysis and visualization to support decision-making processes.
  • Attend relevant meetings/training related to information management systems or GIS provided by DMAC or any other stakeholder.
  • Any other reasonability/ tasks outlined by the HMA Operation Support Manager.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role you must have:

Experience and technical competencies:

  • Two years’ work experience in the mine action program
  • One year work experience in DATA collection and DATA entry
  • One year experience with GIS and mapping
  • One year experience in the IMSMA process and report analyses

Education/qualifications:

  • High school
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Computer programs course diploma/certificate (MS office, excel, word, and access)

Languages:

  • Pashto and Dari – Fluent
  • English – Advanced
