Purpose of Job
Under the supervision of bankers in Tunis RO, the successful candidate will contribute to the preparation of public and private sector projects at the EBRD in Tunisia. The intern’s key role will be to support a wide range of transaction related processes directly and indirectly linked to preparation, financial analysis, due diligence, monitoring of investment, and general implementation and administration of work. Activities will include, but are not limited, to the following areas:
• Data gathering, research and analysis of background information on companies and sectors
• Financial analysis of companies and projects including building of financial projections
• Contribute to the drafting of internal memos during the project appraisal process
• Participation in internal and external meetings where appropriate
• Contribute to market mapping within the relevant industries, contribute to business development
• Support the team with administrative tasks when needed
Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university in business administration, economics, finance, or other relevant disciplines. Master’s degree preferred.
• Strong numerical literacy and ability to understand local and international accounting principles, and apply credit analysis using such accounts
• Strong communication skills: ability to articulate complex transactions and issues in a succinct and clear manner, both written and verbally
• Business experience in the financial, corporate and/or consulting sector is an advantage
• Excellent knowledge, particularly of Excel, Word and other MS office applications
• Fluency in English (written and verbal) is essential, as well as fluency in Arabic and French
• Prior work experience of minimum 1 year, preferably at a local commercial bank/audit firm performing similar responsibilities
• Ability and curiosity to learn, work well independently and meet required deadlines
• Team-player – contribute to an inspiring and multi-cultural work environment
