Intro

The Intern will support the Product owner and the development team in charge of the Credit Review Module in Monarch.

The Credit review process focuses on the monitoring of the Bank’s investment engagements performance and the creditworthiness of the associated parties.

Upon a successful pilot in 2022, the module is being rolled out, since January 2023, in a phased approached. A key milestone has been reached in retiring the legacy system, Project Monitoring Module (PMM), and will be deployed Bank wide.

The Intern will contribute to the smooth adoption of the new module by supporting the key departments involved in the process and ensure that the needs of the business are being met and aligned to the overall business solution vision for the module under the guidance of the Product owner.

Purpose of the Job

The Intern, CSG Product Owner will support part of the on-going business activities of a specific module.

Reporting to one specific Product Owner, the incumbent will take care of the daily activities, support Business, ensure a smooth adoption of the module and help maintaining accurate data in a timely manner alongside gather and monitor information for further consideration and review.

Background

The Bank has embarked upon a journey of modernisation and digitalisation of the operations of the Client Services Group, across Banking and Policy & Partnerships activities. Assisted by a Multi-Year Investment Programme overseen by the Transformation Office, the goals are to future proof the Bank’s operational processes and technology.

The responsibility of the CSG Product Team is to (re-)design / streamline end-to-end business processes and deliver systems that are fit for purpose for CSG’s activities, providing an improved user experience through a number of integrated applications, with Monarch being the central core platform for all pre-signing and post-signing investment and donor financed TC activities.

The Product Owner Team is part of the Client Services Group to ensure full business ownership and alignment with business needs.

This important function requires strong support and engagement from each area of CSG, with dedicated representation from the business, as well as from CTO colleagues, in order to shape the vision, facilitate change and ensure adoption. Key to the role is the ability to make decisions from an “organisation perspective” – that is on what is best for the organisation as a whole instead of merely desirable for a particular business area.

Facts / Scale

  • Responsibilities may vary in line with business requirements and specific modules under development
  • Ad-hoc interactions with key business stakeholders across Banking and non-Banking departments, as well as colleagues from CTO Office (Data Management, Monarch development teams and IT teams)
  • Provide business guidance and user-support to around 2,800 users across the Bank and Resident Offices across all levels, with the aim of facilitating their journey and knowledge sharing of Monarch platform

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Support Business Change Management

  • Develop a practical understanding of a specific module of the platform, the related data items, structures and processes and how they link to the other modules of the platform and the other systems within the Bank.
  • Develop a high level understanding of Monarch platform
  • Assist with on-boarding the Banking and Risk teams in relation to the module
  • Develop and maintain trainings and training materials (videos, emails, posters, events etc) as required to support the releases and business change
  • Develop and maintain all communication material required for Monarch (intranet, video, email, print, events etc.) engaging external editors and liaising with Internal Communications as required

Strengthen Business Engagement/Ownership

  • Provide technical and business support to around 2,800 users of various modules across the Monarch ecosystems. Take responsibility for the day-to-day administration of Monarch Mailbox.
  • Assist other departments in fulfilling their responsibilities for data input and quality control, including increasing awareness and commitment to quality data input and control process.
  • Undertake reconciliation process, discrepancy analysis and investigation of data involving close liaison with relevant departments to ensure data integrity.
  • Report any data anomalies and system-generated alerts to colleagues

Contribute to the Product Owner Team

  • Participate to the internal activities of the Team: contribute to the Team Objectives / Engagement Matters Action Plan, suggest continuous improvements in our ways of working, participate to Team meetings and other team events, and assist with team coverage
  • Champion and role model the Bank’s Behavioural Competencies and Corporate Behaviours, ensuring adherence within the team so that the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct are exhibited at all times.

Qualifications & Skills / Experience & Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree within a relevant field / or studying towards
  • Understanding of the type of activities the EBRD engages in
  • Good communication skills and willingness to engaging with stakeholders
  • An interest in technology and gaining a deeper understanding of its business application
  • Able to work effectively and flexibly within a professional work environment
  • Ability to become an effective part of a close team providing support to achieve the teams objectives
