About the Program

We offer internships lasting between 3 and 10 months. Our internship opportunities may commence at any point during the calendar year.

Before starting your internship with us, you will have to obtain a security clearance thus we remain flexible on potential start dates. Our helpful security teams will support you with this clearance process.

During this program you will join and support different teams and simultaneously learn from our business experts via on-the-job training and shadowing.

About the Internship

Internship duration: 6 months

Location: Brussels, Belgium

The Chief Operating Office (COO) is accountable for aligning demand and supply to create customer value, by leading business planning, prioritizing incoming requests, leading through-life cycle business development, overseeing resource allocation to projects and services, and directing data-driven performance improvements. We also keep the NCIA Portfolio, Programme, Project and Services Management (P3SM) Framework updated and ensure compliance, supporting full life-cycle support for Service Delivery and continual improvement, supervising compliance with NCIA processes, and promoting a collaborative environment for effective and efficient business operations.

As an Intern – Business Planning and Reporting, you will support a diverse range of strategic-level initiatives ensuring that the full breath of NCIA business is robustly planned and executed in accordance with established constraints. Specific duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and executing high-level monitoring and control mechanisms for NCIA-wide business execution
  • Leveraging multiple large and complex datasets to provide insights and intelligence on NCIA-wide business performance
  • Supporting the annual business planning exercise
  • Liaising and coordination with other Branch stakeholders across the NCIA
  • Undertaking additional related tasks as required

Who you are:

  • A recent graduate or current student in a graduate or undergraduate school program in engineering, project/program management, public administration and/or international relations
  • Ideally at least 6 months study or work experience in a relevant field
  • Demonstrable skills or experience in any of the following areas are desirable but not necessarily required: business planning and reporting, business analysis, business intelligence, and/or project/programme management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint and process mapping would be a nice to have)

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to apply to our internship program, you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • You are a national of a NATO member country
  • You are currently studying towards a university-level degree or have recently graduated in the past 12 months
  • You have strong communication skills in English, both written and oral

  • Proof of ongoing studies with the dates clearly mentioned if you are still studying

Compensation

You will be compensated at a fixed taxable rate of 1,235.27 EUR per month, based on 38 hours of work per week and for travel expenses.
