About the position
Based in Rome, Italy, at the Alliance Headquarters, and under the direct supervision of the Research Officer, Climate Action, the Intern will provide assistance to the Climate Action Research Program to support the development of a catalog of innovations, tools, databases, and knowledge products that have been developed by Climate Action scientists though CGIAR research initiatives and bilateral research projects.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with the quality assurance of past innovations by reviewing entries in the Alliance Research Results dashboard and liaising with Climate Action scientists for accuracy.
  • Assist with gathering and vetting past innovations for the Alliance website in collaboration with the Knowledge Sharing and Dissemination unit.
  • Assist with collecting and reporting new innovations by conducting interviews with Climate Action scientists and reviewing internal documents.
  • Assist with maintaining the innovations dashboard by establishing a regular update schedule to keep information current.
  • Assist with the co-development of a digital archive for innovations by refining database architecture and ensuring data is accessible and searchable.
  • Assist with analyzing updated innovations and compiling findings into reports.
  • Assist with developing an internal repository for other knowledge products like blogs, infographics, and project highlights.

 

Requirements

Essential Requirements
  • Ongoing or recently completed studies in international relations, communications, marketing, political sciences, or related fields of studies.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite packages.
  • Working knowledge (at least C1 level) of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Good interpersonal, communications and teamwork skills, courtesy and tact, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of different cultural and national backgrounds.
  • Good skills in personal organization and priority setting.
Desirable Requirements
  • Working knowledge in data analysis and communications.
  • Working knowledge of Spanish language is a plus.
  • Work experience in an international environment.

 

Benefits

Terms of employment
Applicants must be currently enrolled in a university or graduate school and have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies, or alternatively, have completed their university studies within the past six months. The internship shall be either on a full-time basis for 3 months, or on a part-time basis for 6 months. The monthly stipend will be established in accordance with Bioversity International’s local standards and regulations.

  • Be Italian nationals holding a valid passport or identity card.
  • Or be EU citizens holding a valid passport or identity card and confirmation of registration from the Registrar’s Office (Anagrafe).
  • Or Non – EU citizens holding a valid Italian work permit (permesso di soggiorno per lavoro subordinato).
