BACKGROUND

Gavi’s Country Support Core Team is looking for a French mother-tongue intern to provide programmatic support to the West and Central Africa portfolio. They will work closely with the Team Senior Programme Assistant, focusing on the grant management process and cross-cutting analysis.

 

 

• Support drafting and translating of communications to countries and partners;
• Support robust knowledge management (e.g., ensuring databases and repositories are up to date, record keeping);
• Provide logistical support to team for engagement with partners/countries;
• Draft grant agreements, exhibits and other contracts and coordinate procurement processes;
• Monitor and update relevant trackers, as well as keep track of deadlines and outstanding items required from countries
• Timely payment of partners’ invoices and contract renewals
• Support cross-cutting analysis within the W&CA portfolio
• Other support as needed to maintain and further strengthen W&CA team efficiency and effectiveness

 

 

 

 

• Excellent interpersonal skills and modelling of positive team behaviours that foster teamwork and trust. An open, humble and ‘can-do’ attitude.
• Multitask, track and manage many active priorities in parallel, prioritising between multiple important tasks but not dropping other tasks, and structuring work to meet deadlines.
• Deliver clear, concise and coherent messages orally and in writing, adapted to intended audience.
• Resilience to work in a high-pressure environment with tight timelines, maintaining a sense of proportion and of humour.

 

 

• Mother-tongue French, and fluency in English.

 

 

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant area;
• Candidates with familiarity with the West and Central Africa region are particularly encouraged to apply.

Eligibility criteria:
The candidates must be enrolled in a university or have graduated within the past 12 months.
Interns are expected to be interning on a full-time basis.
