This position is based at the ESA Centre for Earth Observation (ESRIN) – Frascati, Italy
Under the direct authority of the Director General, the Communication Department is responsible for:

The Production and Management Support Division oversees the development and management of ESA communication channels, including online, video and print publications. It also manages the implementation of communication partnerships, ESA merchandising and the deployment of the ESA brand and corporate identity. This Division is also responsible for the coordination of outreach communication activities through the Agency in close collaboration with the respective heads of establishments and ESA Member State space agencies, offices or entities. Last but not least, this Division also coordinates the deployment of the Department’s budget and manpower resources plan.
The Digital Media Production Office is responsible for carrying out and coordinating the planning, technical management, implementation, and publishing of ESA’s digital media and online channels. You will be placed within the ESA video production team, which falls within the Digital Media Production Office.

Topic: Content development for 3D visual system and support to video production
The main activity of the internship will be to develop content for and run content on both the 9:16 3meters Led Wall and the ‘Metabox’ 3D visual system of the Communication Team Building (ESRIN B14). You will be asked to drive concept development, logistical coordination, video production and post-production. You will also be asked to provide overall support to the video production team, assisting in any or all phases of the production process, including concept development, logistical coordination, shooting, animating, sound editing and video editing for multiple distribution channels.
Through these activities, you will develop project planning and management skills, problem-solving, gain practical experience across all the production phases, learn how to transform corporate messaging into visual digital communication products, and gain a deeper knowledge of European space activities. Time permitting and based on the candidate’s individual skill set, support for other video-related activities within the Digital Media Production Office may be requested, such as compiling viewer statistics, assisting with live web streaming, and assessing video distribution platforms.

You must have student status and be enrolled at university for the entire duration of the internship. You should preferably be in your final or second to last year of a university course at master’s level in a technical or scientific discipline.
The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.
