About the Program

We offer internships lasting between 3 and 10 months. Our internship opportunities may commence at any point during the calendar year.

Before starting your internship with us, you will have to obtain a security clearance thus we remain flexible on potential start dates. Our helpful security teams will support you with this clearance process.

During this program you will join and support different teams and simultaneously learn from our business experts via on-the-job training and shadowing.

About the Internship

Internship duration: 6 months

Location: Brussels, Belgium

The Acquisition Office provides the full range of acquisition expertise and activities which support the planning, implementation and maintenance of the required capability to support the NCIA’s strategic goals and missions. These functions include Contracting, Logistics, and Cost Estimating and Analysis, among others. The Acquisition Office implements Best Practices as it relates to all acquisition activities, including Life Cycle Acquisition and ensures impartial, unbiased, timely and accurate execution of all actions performed. We develop, implement and monitor the compliance with NCIA acquisition policy and procedures, and conduct all source selection activities of the NCIA. We also establish, process, administer, and effectively communicate NCIA policies and practices and the documents and actions necessary to implement the NCIA’s acquisitions.

This internship position will be with Industry Relations Team (IRT) that sits within Acquisition Office. IRT is responsible for advising the Chief of Acquisition and the NCIA General Manager on all Industry Relations matters to include strengthening existing relationships with the private sector and building new ones (including with Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups.)

As an Intern – Industry Relations Coordinator, you will help the IRT prepare for the NCIA’s flagship industry event – NATO Edge. You will:

  • Assist in NATO Edge project coordination such as liaise with wide range of internal cross-Agency teams and external stakeholders, take meeting minutes and follow up on diverse pending tasks
  • Assist in NATO Edge conference content and Agenda development
  • Assist in preparing related correspondence, reports, background papers and documentation
  • Assist in preparing promotional material and communication campaigns for NATO Edge
  • Perform research, data collection and analysis.
  • Support execution of Industry Strategic Engagement Plan, by planning and implementing Industry engagements or visits.

Who you are:

  • A recent graduate or current student in a graduate or undergraduate school program in international relations, political sciences, communication, business administration or other relevant discipline
  • Some experience in events management, stakeholders engagement, communications or business administration
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Ability to take initiative and evidence of a flexible approach to be able to act in a demanding environment with changing requirements
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, consistent responsiveness and sensitivity to stakeholders
  • Attention to detail, punctuality, focus on delivering results
  • Willingness to learn

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to apply to our internship program, you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • You are a national of a NATO member country
  • You are currently studying towards a university-level degree or have recently graduated in the past 12 months
  • You have strong communication skills in English, both written and oral

  • Proof of ongoing studies with the dates clearly mentioned if you are still studying

Compensation

You will be compensated at a fixed taxable rate of 1,235.27 EUR per month, based on 38 hours of work per week and for travel expenses.
