Duties and Responsibilities
The intern will be tasked with supporting the internal communications strategy at the Office of the Director of the Division of Administration. Key responsibilities will include: • Designing and updating newsletters for staff communication. • Facilitating communication with member states. • Assisting in the organization of events. • Performing updates on the intranet. • Developing and implementing new outreach channels The internship is designed to help the intern gain practical experience in internal communications within an international organization, contributing to their understanding and development of effective communication strategies.
Qualifications/special skills
Interns must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in a related field such as Communications, Public Relations, or International Relations. Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Candidates must have: • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Good organizational skills and attention to detail. • Proficiency in using digital communication tools and platforms.
Languages
Fluency in English and French is required, as all internal communications at UNOG are conducted in these two languages.
Additional Information
The internship will be conducted in-person at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. The intern will be provided with a laptop and necessary IT equipment and software, and a working space. The internship will be full time and in person, starting in September and will last for 6 months

Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions. Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the country where the internship is undertaken, may be required to obtain the appropriate visa and work/employment authorization. Successful candidates should discuss their specific visa requirements before accepting the internship offer.
