Position Overview

Girl Up is seeking a Multimedia Intern to assist on various projects across platforms for the communications team. The Multimedia Intern will assist members of Girl Up’s Communications team to help organize video and photo assets, assist in editing and designing visual and multimedia assets for social channels, websites, and Girl Up events, in addition to other tasks as assigned. The Multimedia Intern is a remote position and will report to the Deputy Director of Communications. The Multimedia Intern will collaborate across Girl Up’s departments, including Programs, Development, and Global Operations teams.

Essential Functions

  • Assist Girl Up’s Graphic Designer Associate in creating, designing and applying graphics across Girl Up print resources and digital platforms as needed
  • Support in updating Girl Up’s photo and video curation and organizing assets as needed
  • Support video production needs for upcoming events and campaigns, as needed
  • Assist with storyboarding, editing, curating video for Girl Up’s digital platforms, as needed
  • Brainstorm creative ideas for Girl Ups social platforms, virtual event branding, and merchandise design
  • Assist in template document and resource creation (i.e. presentation decks, one-pagers)
  • Take quality notes and be able to translate team directives into completed projects
  • Assist in video production design as needed
  • Additional support tasks as needed

Selection Criteria

  • Candidate must be enrolled in a degree-granting program during the internship or must be a recent graduate (within 8 months of graduation) of a college or university.
  • Communication, Graphic Design, and Multimedia Design degrees preferred
  • Applicant should have intermediate to advanced level experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign are a must)
  • Experience working with Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro and Adobe After Effects, strongly preferred
  • Experience designing for digital platforms and web are preferred
  • Asana experience a plus
  • Some video editing experience preferred
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
