About the position

 

The Alliance of Bioversity International and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) is looking for a self-motivated intern to provide timely and efficient programs support to on-going Alliance Projects in Tanzania.

 

Main responsibility:

 

The internship student will support and learn different administration and project operations duties from the Programs Administration & Operations, and other projects teams.

Key duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing operational and administrative support for ongoing project activities in the office.
  • Assist in scheduling and planning internal and external meetings and conferences by assembling meeting materials.
  • Assisting in reviewing project budgets and budget for project’s routine events.
  • Receives, sorts, analyzes, and summarizes material for the preparation of various reports.
  • Assisting in maintaining program calendars and sending out reminders of impending appointments.
  • Assisting in compiling and sending bulk mailings.
  • Assist in proofreading and making copies of documents as may be required by the program team.
  • Supporting in typing letters and reports as may be required from time to time.
  • Supporting logistics and procurement by organizing payment documents for vendors and suppliers 
  • Supporting vehicle millage review and recording in data base for millage charge back to the projects.
  • Assist in carrying out administrative tasks as required to facilitate an efficient working environment.
  • Perform additional tasks related to administration and operations as may be required by superiors.

 

Requirements

  • Completed bachelor’s degree in business administration, project planning and management, agribusiness or any other closely related field not more than 1 year ago.
  • Basic computing skills with knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of English language.

Terms of employment

 

This is an internship position based in Arusha, Tanzania. The contract will be for period of six (6) months and is renewable to a maximum of one year depending on performance and availability of resources.
