Position Overview

Girl Up is seeking an Undergraduate Intern to support Girl Up’s Programs Team. The Undergraduate Intern, Programs Team, Girl Up will assist three key streams of work: training and learning, community engagement and alum programming. They will be a member of the Girl Up Program team and report to the Manager, Alumni, Girl Up; while also working closely with other team members. Essential Functions

Support of Training and Learning Team (40%)

  • Support the review, revision, and execution of Girl Up’s Gender-Based Violence training of trainer’s course for a global audience.
  • Provide logistical coordination and event management of STEM for Social Good Bootcamps, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Support of the Community Engagement Team (40%)

  • Support the processing and review of the upcoming cohort of Teen Advisor and Scholarship applications.
  • Assist with club registrations and Instagram deactivations.
  • Curate and publish the biweekly Girl Up Community newsletter.
  • Monitors the public email inboxes of Girl Up programs.

Support of the the Alum Program Team

  • Support in organizing alum data sets, with keen attention to detail.

Selection Criteria

  • Candidate must be enrolled in a degree-granting program during the internship or must be a recent graduate (within 8 months of graduation) of a college or university.
  • Dedication to Girl Up’s mission and core values; and a commitment to social justice, diversity and inclusion.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a passion for member engagement.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of educational programming concepts and practices.
  • Experience with Google Drive, Microsoft Office, Canvas and Outlook.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Ability to problem solve and implement corrective action as needed.
  • Independent and self-directed
  • Strong skills working in teams, with ability to collaborate across many teams.
  • Experience and demonstrated interest in youth leadership development.
  • Responsible, flexible, and hard-working.
  • Ability to proactively communicate one’s capacities and ask for guidance/support when needed, able to handle multiple deadlines and projects
  • Ability to meet regular attendance/tardiness policy.
  • As this is a remote position, candidate must have a personal laptop computer and access to the internet.
  • Must be available to work a maximum of 29 hours per week, preferably spread across five days per week.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
