JOB DETAIL

JOB SUMMARY:

At CSIS we actively seek to employ a diverse group of people who embody our organizational values. We welcome and encourage individuals of all backgrounds to apply, especially those from traditionally underrepresented groups.

The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decision makers concerned with global security and prosperity.  Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of some 200 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.

CSIS seeks an intern to support the new Renewing American Innovation project. Renewing American Innovation (RAI) explores the policies and partnerships that will secure the United States’ role as a leading innovator while ensuring that all Americans have a shared stake in the innovation economy.

Producing insightful analysis and convening stakeholders from across the innovation ecosystem, RAI seeks to foster a public appreciation for the networks and institutions to which we owe much of our prosperity today.

The program is looking to hire someone available to start in January 2023. The intern is expected to work five days a week, Monday through Friday, for a total of 35 hours. The position will be predominantly in-person with some flexibility for remote working. The hired candidate will be paid hourly, commensurate with experience: ($17.00/hour for current undergraduate hires, $18.00/hour for hires with a Bachelor’s degree, and $19.00/hour for hires with a Master’s degree).

  • Assist in public and private event planning. Provide support during events, which will include liaising with the CSIS Conferencing and A/V teams.
  • Attend internal and external meetings as requested by the Director and take extensive notes that will be shared among the Director, Deputy Director, Program Manager, and senior advisers.
  • Assist as needed on ad hoc projects or requests, as directed by Director, Deputy Director, Program Manager, or Research Associate.
