About the position
The Intern student will develop written and graphic content for the Alliance Bioversity-CIAT social media and digital platforms and support the organization, execution, and digital promotion of the Alliance’s research portfolio.
The position will be based in the operations center of the Americas, located in the Campus of Palmira, Colombia.
Responsibilities
Work with the Digital Communications team, as well as scientific departments, to source content for the Alliance social media and digital platforms.
Create publication calendars for the Alliance social media and digital platforms.
Assist with creating a style/visual identity for the Alliance social media and digital platforms.
Create content (including writing, editing, proofreading, and formatting in English) for the Alliance social media and digital platforms.
Review and schedule content for the Alliance social media platforms.
Contribute to additional communication team activities including drafting content or scripts for the Comms Team.
Other responsibilities will be assigned according to the programs and unit demands.
Requirements
Qualifications and requirements
Students in their last semesters and suitable for internships in graphic design, communications, journalism, digital marketing, international relations, or equivalent.
Understanding issues related to the food systems, environment, nutrition, and agriculture is an asset.
Knowledge of scheduling platforms (e.g., Sprout, Hootsuite), graphic design (e.g. Canva, InDesign), and elements of video editing.
Strong computer skills, including MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite, and knowledge of social media platforms.
Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required, and knowledge in Italian, French, and other UN
languages is an asset.
Ability to convey complex and technical content in engaging, succinct, and clear multimedia formats
for digital platforms.

Ability to work cooperatively with others, demonstrate flexibility in fulfilling assignments, and to be proactive in planning, researching, and pitching communications opportunities.
Strong interpersonal, communications, and teamwork skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of different cultural and national backgrounds.

Terms of employment
This is a Colombian national search and will be managed through a fixed term contract of six (6) months, subject to a probation period according to the local legislation and is renewable depending on performance and availability of resources.
