Position Overview

Girl Up is seeking an Undergraduate Intern, Training & Learning, to support Girl Up’s issue area programming and resource development. The Undergraduate Intern, Training & Learning, Girl Up will assist in a range of tasks to support resource creation and programming related to STEM for Social Good, Sports for a Purpose, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Rights & Justice (SRHRJ), Gender Based Violence (GBV), Youth Leadership Development, and overall programming across the Girl Up Program Team. They are a member of the Girl Up Program team will report to the Manager, Training & Learning, Girl Up.

Essential Functions

 

  • Support Girl Up’s issue area programming, including but not limited to, creation of digital materials, activities, toolkits, and video content for a global audience.
  • Work in close collaboration with Program Associate to contribute to the logistical coordination and implementation of STEM for Social Good Bootcamps, Sports for a Purpose Bootcamps, Climate Change resources, and the 2023 WiSci STEAM Mexico Camp.
  • Work in close collaboration with Sr. Associate, Training & Learning to contribute to the implementation of Girl Up’s Leadership Course and corresponding youth-centered trainings and events.
  • Participate in regular working group meetings, assisting with the development of reference materials and presentations for key issue areas.
  • Work collaboratively with members of Training & Learning team to support data collection, management, and analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Selection Criteria

  • Candidate must be enrolled in a degree-granting program during the internship or must be a recent graduate (within 8 months of graduation) of a college or university. Dedication to Girl Up’s mission and core values.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of educational programming concepts and practices.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Ability to problem solve and implement corrective action as needed.
  • Independent self-starter.
  • Experience and demonstrated interest in youth leadership development.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a passion for member engagement.
  • Experience in Excel, Google Drive, Microsoft Office, Asana, Canva and Outlook, preferred
  • Responsible, flexible, and hard-working.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle stress.
  • Ability to meet regular attendance/tardiness policy.
  • As this is a remote position, candidate must have a personal laptop computer and access to the internet.
  • Must be available to work a maximum of 29 hours per week, preferably spread across five days per week.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
