Position Overview
The United Nations Foundation links the UN’s work with others around the world, mobilizing the energy and expertise of business and non-governmental organizations to help the UN tackle issues including climate change, global health, peace and security, women’s empowerment, poverty eradication, energy access, and U.S.-UN relations. The intern will report to the Executive Director of UN Foundation Advocacy.

Essential Functions
- Support the UN Foundation campaigns’ advocacy work by researching how the U.S. works closely with the UN on issues such as malaria, immunizations and vaccinations, and adolescent girls
- Assist in morning news clips and keeping staff informed of UN stories relevant to BWC’s work
- Assist in drafting factsheets for Capital Hill, NGOs, and the BWC supporters
- Assist the BWC team in preparing for and executing events and activities
- Participate in meetings, take notes, and draft memos
- Other activities as directed by Executive Director of UN Foundation Advocacy
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Available 3-5 days per week with 5 days/week strongly preferred.
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree, or be within eight months of graduating, in a field related to international relations, political science, conflict resolution, and public policy.
- Experience in professional setting is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical and writing skills in English.
- Someone who can work in high-stress environments and have a sense of humor.
- Experience with database management and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Self-starter, fast learner, keen attention to detail, strong creativity, and team player a must.
- Ability to work well with a small, fast-paced team and manage multiple tasks.
