Working with in-country partners, IRRI develops advanced rice varieties that yield more grain and better withstand pests and disease as well as flooding, drought, and other harmful effects of climate change.
The objective of the assignment is to support Climate Change research at IRRI with emphasis on 1) supporting the REMET-Rice Project through scientific advice and active participation in project activities as outlined below, 2) assisting in the development of new carbon market methodologies, 3) contributing to the state-of-the art assessment of Rice GHG Baseline-MRV-Accounting (World Bank project), and 3) act as senior advisor for IRRI’s GHG mitigation research.
This position will be based at the IRRI Headquarters, Los Baños, Philippines and is open for international applications.
