JOB DETAIL

Result of Service

• Support the design of drug use prevention training modules for peer-to-peer settings, including relevant literature research
• Support the drafting and editing of standardized Peer Leader Manual, Peer Tool kit, and Training-of-Trainers (TOT) manual.
• Design and draft a monitoring content tool for trained peers and peer leaders to fill in and submit, which will serve to provide minimum of information on compliance and fidelity to the programme outline and modules.
• Support expert group meetings, and integrate feedback from experts into the final outcome documents.

Work Location

Home-Based with travel to Vienna 27 – 28 March 2024

Expected duration

07.08.23– 31.03.24 (with the possibility of extension)

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Global Programme Coordinator, the consultant will support the development of the core intervention of the peer-to-peer programme, draft standardized manuals and toolkits (including reflection of feedback from experts), and will create a monitoring content tool for the training-of-trainers and peer leader training.

Qualifications/special skills

An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in social sciences, psychology, public health or epidemiology is required. A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Minimum 7 years of experience in the field of social sciences, psychology, public health or epidemiology, or related field with a track record of programme development on the subject is required.

Strong drafting skills and understanding of the contemporary field of drug prevention is desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
