Duties and Responsibilities
The United Nations office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) experience shows that capacity building is a key factor in enhancing Member States’ ability to tackle drugs, crime and terrorism in all their aspects. The knowledge gap between countries is often wide and growing due to the unbalanced economic and social growth as well as the lack of international cooperation and coordination. This situation is not only between countries but within them, including some of the most prosperous. In June 2010, the global project GLOU61 UNODC Global eLearning, was approved. This project aims at addressing the shortcomings and lessons learned from the past with a focus on sustainability, monitoring and evaluation while continuing as funding allows for the design, development and delivery of standardised learning tools to be reachable by any public official, in any working conditions and location, in order to reduce barriers to accessing knowledge and to promote cooperation. The role of the Consultant will be to provide substantive support to the Programme Management Unit in the following tasks: (i) To contribute to the overall implementation of the programme throughout its deliveries; (ii) To design and develop eLearning modules in English; this task will be carried out in collaboration with the consultant responsible of the production process; (iii) To contribute to the development of the story board based on the content provided by the SME and integrate review edits and feedback for the module content; (iv) To monitor, assess, identify solutions and report in which way the implementation of the project can be improved and assist the Programme Coordinator and the Consultant responsible for production in developing new innovative strategies and technologies.
