Until the end of the contract, the Consultant will: • Complete monthly workplan activities based on incoming requests and task assignments, as agreed and confirmed with the IT Systems Officer. • Design, develop, test and deploy functionalities for the assigned T4SD web applications or their parts, as per defined requirements. • Provide ongoing support and maintenance of the T4SD web applications as required.

Duties and Responsibilities
BACKGROUND: The International Trade Centre (ITC) assists developing and transition countries to take advantage of expanding trade opportunities in an increasingly complex global environment. ITC supports ‘Trade Impact for Good’, promoting sustainable and inclusive development goals through trade. The Green & Inclusive Value Chains (GIVC) section of ITC develops, maintains and expands the scope of its market analysis tools and works on a range of development-oriented activities. The Consultant will work for the Trade for Sustainable Development (T4SD) programme, which specifically focuses on the sustainable development aspects of international trade by providing, together with partners, comprehensive, verified and transparent information on voluntary sustainability standards (VSS), codes of conduct, audit protocols and related research analyses. IT-wise, the objectives and activities of the T4SD programme at ITC are supported by a portfolio of web applications, systems, and APIs. We are looking for an experienced Front-end Engineer to join our team in Geneva, Switzerland, for a full-time contract (partial remote work is possible). DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direct supervision of the IT Systems Officer and overall supervision of the Head of T4SD, the consultant will be responsible for the following duties: • Take ownership of an application development lifecycle for assigned projects. • Design and develop front-end interfaces using Angular or similar front-end frameworks, ensuring a responsive, intuitive, and dynamic user experience, ensuring technical feasibility of UI/UX designs. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and internal and external stakeholders to define, implement, and ship new webapp features and improvements. • Ensure the software meets requirements in terms of usability, security, availability and long-term maintainability. • Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in web development, evaluating them and making recommendations for their deployment. Copyright Clause: The Consultant has to ensure that s/he has obtained the necessary permissions with regard to intellectual property rights required to perform his/her services under this consultancy contract and for the subsequent dissemination by ITC in any form. Documentary proof is to be submitted to ITC. Should any license fee be due for the use of copyrighted materials of third parties, the Consultant shall request prior written permission from ITC. S/he has further to ensure to obtain accreditation to event(s), if required. Qualifications/special skills
Undergraduate degree (BA/BSC or other) in computer science/software engineering or relevant fields preferred. Extensive relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the university degree. At least 5 years of experience in software engineering and at least 2 years of experience with Angular or React framework. Proficient in Angular and/or other front-end frameworks such as React, Vue, with a deep understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3. Solid understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript and its core concepts. Experience with responsive and adaptive design. Strong knowledge of build tools (e.g., Webpack, Gulp) and version control systems (e.g., Git). Experience with analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager is advantageous. Excellent problem-solving skills, with a creative and adaptable approach. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with an ability to work independently.
