Under the overall supervision of Chief, Procurement Section, and/or in coordination with the responsible Officer, the incumbent will perform the following duties:
– Review and become familiar with the Financial Rules, Standard Instructions, and other documents guiding the Procurement framework.
– Contribute towards the development of templates, form and training material.
– Assist in the organization and development of an electronic inventory for Procurement documentation.
– Assist during the implementation of the implementation of WMO new ERP system.
– Contribute towards a variety of procurement related areas throughout the procurement process cycle including during the finalization of the technical requirements and solicitation documents as well as during bids evaluation and post-award contract administration.
– Undertake other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS | ||
Education Bachelor degree in Law, Business or related discipline. |

Experience No previous work experience is required. A good knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer applications is essential; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is an asset. Experience in the field of contract law or procurement is an asset. |

Other requirements Excellent analytical and drafting skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented. Ability to work in a multicultural and diverse team. |

Languages Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential. Knowledge of other official WMO languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is desirable. (Note: The official languages of the Organization are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.) |
