Under the overall supervision of Chief, Procurement Section, and/or in coordination with the responsible Officer, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

– Review and become familiar with the Financial Rules, Standard Instructions, and other documents guiding the Procurement framework.

– Contribute towards the development of templates, form and training material.

– Assist in the organization and development of an electronic inventory for Procurement documentation.

– Assist during the implementation of the implementation of WMO new ERP system.

– Contribute towards a variety of procurement related areas throughout the procurement process cycle including during the finalization of the technical requirements and solicitation documents as well as during bids evaluation and post-award contract administration.

– Undertake other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor degree in Law, Business or related discipline.
Experience
No previous work experience is required. A good knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer applications is essential; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is an asset.
Experience in the field of contract law or procurement is an asset.
Other requirements
Excellent analytical and drafting skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented.
Ability to work in a multicultural and diverse team.
Languages
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential.

Knowledge of other official WMO languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is desirable.
