Interpretation services are professionally and appropriately provided during the workshops in two languages:
– English and Spanish for the Pre-COP for Latin America and the Caribbean.

– English and French for the Pre-COP for Africa Asia and Europe.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) is the primary specialised intergovernmental global framework for cooperative efforts in relation to the conservation of migratory species and their habitats.
The 14th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to CMS (CMS COP14) will be held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, from 12 to 17 February 2024. To ensure effective preparation for and contribution to the COP negotiation, the CMS Secretariat is organising regional online workshops in preparation for COP14 (Pre-COPs).
The Secretariat is seeking interpreters to serve at the following online workshops:
1) Providing simultaneous Interpretation from and/or to the following languages:
– English
– French
– Spanish
2) Familiarizing themselves with the topics to be discussed via the meeting documents which are available online.
Qualifications/special skills
Academic Qualifications: Postgraduate degree/diploma in interpreting techniques, English, French and Spanish.
A minimum of five years of professional interpreting experience in international organizations is required. Knowledge of terminology used in the UN, UNEP, Cities and the CMS Secretariat is required.
Membership of AllC is an asset.
Languages
Fluency in English, French and Spanish (oral & reading) is required.
