I. MSF INTERNATIONAL

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, healthcare exclusion and natural disasters. MSF offers assistance to people based only on need and irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.

MSF International is the legal entity that binds MSF’s 24 sections, 27 associations and 18 branch offices together. Registered in Switzerland, MSF International provides coordination, information and support to the MSF Movement, as well as implements international projects and initiatives as requested.

II. POSITION BACKGROUND

MSF International provides coordination and Global services across the MSF movement. The Finance Department ensures that MSF International funds are used adequately in accordance with our accountability principles. Since October 2023, MSF International has launched the International Contracting office, bringing forth a harmonized remuneration and benefits package, and an optimized administrative support for NCR (non contracting residents) staff throughout their tenure with MSF. These employees are hired and managed by MSF Operating Centers, and contracted by MSF International who then redistributes the costs. By the end of the year, the ICO will generate around 1,800 monthly payslips and payments, with a continuous growth through 2025.

III. PLACE IN THE ORGANISATION

The MSF IO Intersection & Cash Accountant is managed by the International Office, reports hierarchically to the Senior Finance Advisor & functionally to the Accountant.

IV. OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION

The MSF IO Intersection & Cash Accountant is primarily in charge of processing all accounting & cash entries for the International Contracting Office in D365 accounting system. He/she ensures monthly reconciliations are done and accurate. He/she is also in charge of preparing & sending all intersection reinvoicing, including ICO reinvoicing to other MSF entities. He/she is also in charge of processing all bank entries in D365 and reconciling with Bank statements.

V. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Within MSF International Finance team, the MSF IO Intersection & Cash Accountant is in charge of :

• Encoding in D365 all the ICO Payroll entries and Convera bank cash movements on a daily basis
• Tracking all rejected payments and following up until resolution with Bank ticketing system
• Preparing cash reconciliations with Payroll and accounting, with Bank statements and reporting
• Preparing and booking monthly ICO invoices to operating centers, based on reports and policies in close collaboration with IO Head of Accounting
• Preparing and booking other intersection invoices in close collaboration with the IO Accountant
• Processing IO bank journals, credit cards and bank reconciliations with Bank statements (UBS, Convera) or other ad hoc support to the IO Accountant
• Working in close collaboration with ICO HR team in regard to employees’s bank details when facing payment delays or payment issues
• Back up for ICO HR assistant on payment issues and bank details
• Support IO Senior Finance Advisor with ICO Finance Processes and policies evolution
