IFC’s Health and Education (H&E) team provides investment and advisory services across a range of sectors that include education, health services, life sciences and medtech. We help clients to achieve their business goals and find solutions to new and emerging issues, with a focus on sustainability.
The Global H&E team supports the H&E network in the regions with strategy setting, knowledge products, strategic client and portfolio management, business development and new transaction processing. In addition, the team supports development and deployment of relevant advisory tools (for example, in the areas of Employability, Health Quality and Digital readiness) and upstream activities.
IFC’s Global H&E team is seeking an Investment Analyst to be based in Washington, DC, to help deliver on IFC’s ambitious program and development objectives.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Sector Support, Business Development and Knowledge Management:
• Provide market research and analysis, including comparator analysis, assessment of market dynamics, benchmarking, and competitiveness.
• Prepare sector mapping to identify and target potential global clients and business opportunities.
• Research prospective client companies.
• Assist in preparing sector strategies, client pitchbooks, and other materials to support the H&E network.
• Contribute to dissemination and exchange of knowledge.
• Attend key meetings (internal and external), including minute taking and follow-ups.
• Contribute to implementation of the H&E go-to-market strategy and growth playbook.
• Support deployment of H&E advisory products and other enablers.
Deal Execution and Investment Portfolio:
• Perform analytics on company performance, portfolio data and storage of market and other relevant information
• Analyze company financial statements and projections, build financial models, and prepare sensitivity analyses.
• Collect market data and coordinate with clients to obtain necessary information to support financial, operational and development impact assessments.
• With supervision from senior colleagues, coordinate with internal resources (legal, ES&G, economists, sector specialists, etc.) for input on relevant investment documents and analyses.
• Extract lessons learned from prior transactions and portfolio and aid in the structuring of new deals.
• Prepare portfolio monitoring reports and generate data for analysis from multiple sources.
