Under the line management of the Head of Support Services, the IT Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day management of the IT infrastructure while supporting improvements in DRC’s IT sector. This includes assistance in providing technical support and planning support to future initiatives to increase the in-country capacity.

The IT Assistant responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:
Critical Tasks:
- Adherence to DRC Information and Communication Technology (ICT) policies, guidance, and procedures
- Ensure a unified network and computer setup for all DRC offices.
- Ensure software, hardware and network installs, re-installs, upgrades, moves, changes, and relocations are planned and implemented when necessary and as required.
- Collaboration with colleagues in HQ to be in sync with DRC policies and ongoing projects in IT Department globally.
- Collaboration with external stakeholders to assure the smooth operation of IT services and equipment.
- Explore and recommend cost effective ICT and digital solutions according to support services and programme department’s needs.
- In cooperation with HoSS budgetary forecast meetings for ICT might be held on regular and supporting ICT-related procurement including researching solutions, making recommendations for product purchases, and participating in tendering process.
- Maintain overall responsibility for all IT Licenses and equipment ensuring the best value for money.
- Provide daily User support to DRC colleagues and maintain documentation for Troubleshooting.
Extended Tasks
- Monitor the internet connection and bandwidth, ensuring that Service Level Agreements are adhered to.
- Implement field assessment / feasibility studies on any ICT country-wide initiative, to ensure its practical viability in the field.
- Identify opportunities and recommend solutions that will improve current organizational processes.
- Ensure system security including all DRC networks, servers, and computers always free of virus and malicious code
About you
To be successful in this role we expect the following:
- Minimum of 1 year working in IT roles at similar or equivalent level.
- University or professional degree in information technology, computer systems, or a related field
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- Fluency in Greek
- Proven technical ICT management expertise.
- Knowledge and experience with ICT tools as: O365, Windows 10, Antivirus Software, Power BI, Networking, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN.
- Knowledge or experience of ICT tools and solutions.
- Ability to contribute individually to greater goals.
- Ability to be proactive and work systematically.
- Flexibility and ability to cope with change.
- Ability to cope with high workload and under pressure.
- High business ethics.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment.

We offer
Contract length:
- Contract Length: Fixed Term Contract under Greek Labor Law
- Part-time employment: 4 hours a day, 80 hours per month (Exact work schedule and employment modality are open to negotiation)
- Designation of Duty Station: Athens (Country Office)
- All allowances will be provided to the employees (Christmas, Easter, Vacation bonus)
