Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to protect, advocate and promote durable solutions for displacement affected populations.
DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 800 staff in Ukraine and will continue significant scale-up in 2024 to implement emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.
DRC is currently looking for a IT Assistant for its activities in Kharkiv.
About the job
Under the supervision of a Supply Chain Team Leader, you will provide support to all DRC staff. As a key member of the Support Services, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our systems and networks, enabling our staff to focus on their primary work — improving lives and making positive changes.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Solving administrative tasks in accordance with DRC’s internal regulations and procedures.
- Support Kharkiv and Slovyansk team with IT related tasks and issues. Managing all IT & CCTV equipment.
- Setting up workspace and peripheral devices.
- Creating instructions and conducting IT training for staff.
- Managing user accounts, including password resets and MFA, ensuring data security.
- Analyzing networks and troubleshooting issues that arise.
- Collaborating with the procurement department on IT equipment inventory tasks.
- Ensure the IT procurements and IT equipment maintenance and repairs if needed.
- Following IT procedures and resolving technical issues identified by the management/ CO IT.
- Support program staff with big procurements if needed (furniture, IT, consumables, visibility, equipment).
- Providing necessary administrative support to program staff regarding office maintenance / IT equipment
- Registering, maintaining proper records of all the assets & equipment, including the tags etc.
- Collaborating with the procurement department on IT equipment inventory tasks.
- Monitoring compliance with the organization’s international code of conduct, internal and donor instructions/ procedures regarding DRC procurement of IT equipment, to avoid conflicts of interest.
- Other administrative tasks at the request of the manager.
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have minimum 2 years of relevant experience in IT or equivalent, experience working with an NGO preferred. To succeed in this role, we are looking for a motivated individual who wants to learn quickly and communicate with various stakeholders.
Moreover, we also expect the following:
- Understanding of basic network technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPN).
- Knowledge of Windows 10/11 operating system at an administrator level.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and the ability to diagnose related issues.
- Experience with Office 365 and troubleshooting skills in the Microsoft environment.
- Excellent MS Excel and Word skills, experience with ERP systems is desirable
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail, communicability, financial literacy
- Commitment to learning and implementing organizational policies and procedures
- Proficiency in English at an intermediate or higher level for oral and written communication with colleagues.
- Fluency in Ukrainian.
- Secondary or higher education.
