JOB DETAIL

Background:

The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) is currently performing a comprehensive and up-to-date mapping of key development programs, projects, and interventions related to food security and nutrition in Guatemala. IFPRI seeks an IT developer for a 6-month appointment in its Markets, Trade, and Institutions Unit to collaborate in the study. The developer will collaborate on the development of a (smart) wizard online form for the harmonized data collection from multiple institutions and organizations in Guatemala, as well as on the development of a dedicated interactive platform of easy access and use for designated parties. The platform will present all the data collected, compiled, and processed from the different institutions in the form of high-resolution and interactive maps (with pop-ups), detailed profiles by municipality, and processed databases that can be visualized through interactive worksheets. The position will be completely remote and does not require any work travel.

 

Scope of Work:

    • Design of a (smart) wizard online form for data collection.
    • Develop an interactive dedicated platform of easy access and use.

 

Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Web Development, Software Engineer, or closely related field.
    • Extensive working experience in web design and development.
    • Proficiency in .net core and Java.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work independently and with initiative.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish.
    • Experience working with large databases.
