Information Technology is an integral part of the strategic initiatives for all the core business functions at IFC. Within Corporate Information and Technologies (CIT), Data Engineering, AI and Platforms (CITDE) organization provides comprehensive data and analytics support for IFC’s various organizations, such as Economics & Private Sector Developments, Global Industries, Climate Business, Treasury and Mobilization, any many more. A robust engagement model with business ensures prioritization of the business requirements & focus on delivery. The solution landscape encompasses a wide variety of in-house and customized data applications, AI/ML solutions and scaled capabilities which meet the business needs of IFC departments.
Data Engineering & Platforms (CITDE) is seeking a highly skilled and innovative IT Officer, Data and Information Management I who will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the management of data and analytics assets across the organization. This role is essential for ensuring that our significant investments in data and analytics translate into substantial business transformation outcomes. By providing holistic data and analytics management, the Data Portfolio Manager will focus on tracking value creation, monitoring costs, and ensuring the effective lifecycle management of projects to maximize impact and minimize inefficiencies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee the organization’s data and analytics portfolio, including strategic planning, prioritization, and alignment with business objectives.
• Ensure that all data and analytics initiatives are properly scoped, resourced, and aligned with the organization’s strategic goals.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive portfolio view, including interdependencies between assets and projects.
• Monitor and evaluate the value creation of data and analytics investments at every stage of the project lifecycle.
• Implement and manage metrics to assess the impact and effectiveness of data and analytics initiatives.
• Provide regular reports and insights on portfolio performance, highlighting areas of success and opportunities for improvement.
• Track and manage costs associated with data and analytics projects, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with budgetary constraints.
• Identify and address cost overruns or underperforming projects, proposing corrective actions as needed.
• Oversee the full lifecycle of data and analytics projects, from inception through execution and completion.
• Ensure that projects adhere to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Manage risk by identifying potential issues and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure that data and analytics projects address those needs effectively.
• Facilitate communication between technical teams and business units to ensure alignment and transparency.
• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data and analytics management.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of portfolio management.
Selection Criteria
• Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or Computer Science and at least with 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data and analytics management, project management, or portfolio management roles.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale data and analytics projects, with a track record of successful value realization and cost management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Proficiency in portfolio management tools and methodologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Solid understanding of data and analytics technologies, including data warehousing, business intelligence, and data governance.
• Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to managing and optimizing data and analytics assets.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
