JOB TITLE: IT Operations Assistant
TYPE OF CONTRACT/GRADE: Special Service Agreement / SSA-4
UNIT/DIVISION: Support Services / ICT
DUTY STATION: Amman, Jordan
DURATION: 11 months

DEADLINE: 19 November 2024

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

To deliver standard software and hardware support services, as well as monitor and maintain a wide range of information sources, to contribute to the effective delivery of IT services.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Act as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for ICT service requests, incidents and problems
2. Answering phone calls, emails, user’s questions/inquiries and advise the users on getting the services and resolving ICT problems
3. Log all service requests, incidents, problems into the service desk system and maintain log of all requests and ICT forms
4. Provide first level support to end users and route 2nd and 3rd ICT technical troubles to the concerns
5. Follow up with the users on pending ICT service requests, incidents, and problems. Provide feedback to users and follow up with ICT team on the pending troubles
6. Generate daily, weekly, monthly reports of technical incidents, problems, and other reports as needed
7. Contribute to prepare ICT manuals, operation manuals, training manuals, and others
8. Maintain the documentations and archiving of ICT files and documents. make photocopies of materials required, classifies files and electronic.
9. Maintain electronic information in place and update the office intranet, etc.
10. Implement data entry and updates ICT systems as needed.
11. Act as GEMS (Global Equipment Management System) focal point.
12. Perform & maintain inventory of ICT material and/or database of information.
13. Perform other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area may be desirable. BA degree in Computer Science/Engineering is an added value.

Experience: At least 4 years of experience in IT in the following areas:

  • Resolving level 1 IT issues.
  • First line Helpdesk support.
  • IT inventory management.

Languages: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English.
