BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
The objective of this consultancy is to develop and implement a set of comprehensive IT policies, standards, procedures and guidelines aligned with the IT strategy.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Based on the new IT Strategy and discussion with the IT team, review existing IT policies, standards, procedures and guidelines and provide a gap analysis;
Update IT policies, procedures and guidelines and draft new ones where needed;
Develop a plan and report on progress for the implementation of the IT policies, procedures and guidelines;
Provide a process by which the IT service catalog is updated on a regular basis and ensure the process is embedded in the IT operations;
Assist the IT team in the review of current IT processes and propose changes to improve service quality, reduce operational cost and enhance customer satisfaction;
Draft a communication plan informing the rest of the organization on changes impacting them and provide the needed supporting documentation;
Provide regular progress reports to various stakeholders, including risks, issues, and possible solutions.
DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:
Delivery of a comprehensive set of IT policies, standards, procedures and guidelines aligned to the IT Strategy;
Implementation and operationalization of the defined policies and procedures;
Update of the IT Service catalog;
Communication to users on changes impacting them and delivery of user support material;
Delivery of regular progress reports and dashboards with updates on status, risks, issues, and proposed solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS | ||
Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Relevant certifications in IT governance, ITIL, project management, or enterprise architecture are a plus. |

Experience Proven experience in developing IT policies, procedures, and guidelines; Previous experience in working in UN organizations or international organizations in general. |

Other requirements Strong knowledge of IT service management processes and industry best practices including emerging technologies; Strong knowledge in project management, including project planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting; Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. |

Languages Fluent English (Note: The official languages of the Organization are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.) |
The Secretary-General may appoint a candidate at a grade below the advertised grade of the post, with the possibility of promotion to that grade within three years of appointment, subject to satisfactory appraisal of performance.This project should be ended by 31st December 2023.
