About the position
Based in Rome, Italy and under the overall supervision of the Manager, Project Financial Analysis & Support (PLANS), the Job Trainee, Project Financial Analysis & Support (PLANS) will be part of the PLANS Global Unit of the Alliance. The key responsibilities of the role are mainly focused on Financial Management, but there will also be some tasks related to project financial execution.
Responsibilities
The specific tasks of the position include the following:
- Provide support in the processes of data management
- Assist the team with financial management of grants
- Support the team with partner financial reporting and clearance processes
- Collaborate with the team in grant opening and data management in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
- Take part in the documentation of processes/collect implementation feedback of new workflows to consider improvements
- Take care of updating the financial system and focus on reconciliation
- Assist with following up to ensure all key data is entered into the system
- Support exercise of key data validation to automate the process for the actual calendar year in the Financial Statements
- Take active part in the monthly closing processes
- Provide support in other tasks related to project financial execution
- Secondary school education
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite packages
- Working knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken
- Good interpersonal, communications and teamwork skills, courtesy and tact, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of different cultural and national backgrounds
- Good skills in personal organization and priority setting
- Good client orientation and service approach
- Good time management and multi-tasking skills and attention to details
- Excellent writing skills
- Willingness to keep an open mind to learn new things
- Be a self-starter
Desirable Requirements
- Previous internships
- Work experience in an international environment
- Knowledge of a second language
