Brief Description of Position:
Jr. Accounts Officer reporting to Senior Manager, Financial Accounting will mainly perform the following responsibilities:
- Process, review, authorise and payment of all local conveyance related to project and centre operation.
- Process, review, and pay all project office house rent and ED residence monthly rent and utility bills.
- Process and make payment of all center’s utility (WASA, DESCO, BTCL, etc) bills.
- Process, review, authorise, and pay all cleaning and security bills.
- Processing pay order and delivery, reviewing and processing of mobile bills.
- Deliver all sorts of support to the auditors, both internal and external of the centre.
- Respond to audit queries.
- Prepare and arrange documents accordingly to minimise audit queries/observations and ensure smooth data management.
- Ensure recurring journals are processed timely and accurately.
- Reconcile the respective GL of the related expenditure and make appropriate adjustments if required.
- Confirm relevant vendor ledgers balance.
- Ensure appropriate accounting agreements for house rent.
- Communicate with stakeholders for any discrepancies and make necessary correspondence with the stakeholders.
- Proactively coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure all financial transactions related to his/her scope have been accounted for timely and accurately.
- Ensure the centre’s concerned policies and procedures have been followed.
- Disseminate management decisions to the respective user.
- Support the related stakeholders with their queries.
- Ensure compliance with Tax and VAT issues where applicable.
- Keeping proper documentation and preparing statements of information and providing them to the supervisor as per requirement.
Required qualifications and experience:
- Minimum Bachelor degree in Commerce/BBS/BBA in Accounting/Finance/Management.
- At least level/Part 1 qualification in accounting Profession (CA/ACCA/ICMAB/ICAB/CIMA/Any other)
- Training on accounting/bookkeeping software will be given preference.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in relevant field.
Location: Mohakhali campus, Dhaka.
Contract Type and Duration:
- Fixed Term; duration will be 2 Years with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.
Salary & benefits:
- Annual 5,21,070/- inclusive of house rent, conveyance allowances and other admissible benefits
- 14.8% provident fund contribution, income tax paid by icddr,b, children allowance @Tk.1,917/- per child per month, festival bonus, contributory healthcare support including dependent spouse and children, group life insurance, and subsidised canteen. Transport and day-care facilities are subject to space availability.
