JOB DETAIL

Company Description

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an international organisation comprised of 38 member countries, that works to build better policies for better lives. Our mission is to promote policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world. Together with governments, policy makers and citizens, we work on establishing evidence-based international standards, and finding solutions to a range of social, economic and environmental challenges. From improving economic performance and creating jobs to fostering strong education and fighting international tax evasion, we provide a unique forum and knowledge hub for data and analysis, exchange of experiences, best-practice sharing, and advice on public policies and international standard-setting.

The OECD Directorate for Education and Skills (EDU) leads the Organisation’s work to help member and non-member countries achieve high-quality learning for all, design better skills policies, and turn them into jobs and growth. The directorate carries this out by providing statistics, analysis and policy advice to countries on a wide range of educational topics.

EDU is looking for a Junior Analyst to work in the EDU Director’s Front Office under the supervision of the Senior Counsellor and in support of the Director and Deputy Director. The selected candidate will co-ordinate inputs from across the Directorate for a broad range of requests from the Front Office and EDU Management group, and will actively work to support cross-directorate collaboration, in particular with the development of the biannual Programme of Work and Budget (PWB) for education and skills. This will include support for the delivery of EDU’s Ideas Incubator initiative, undertaken in partnership with the OECD Centre for Skills (SKC), and for advancing deeper collaboration among staff working on similar thematic areas across the directorate. S/he will also work to support the Directorate in co-ordinating EDU’s existing and potential engagement with foundations and other partners, with responsibility for maintaining a centralized system to track donor relations in EDU, and will support the delivery of Education Policy Committee (EDPC) meetings and annual Chairs’ Retreats of education bodies.
