The position is to be filled as soon as possible wiith a contract duration of two years. Employment location will be Bonn, Germany. Following a period of one year in Bonn, an assignment in a non-European Welthungerhilfe project country is foreseen in the second contract year.

As Junior Expert you will support Welthungerhilfe’s Institutional Donor Relations Unit in the acquisition, planning and processing of public funding – especially in the application and reporting process. Through your work you will contribute to ensure financing of humanitarian and development programs. In addition, you will gain insights into strategic planning of the Institutional Donor Relations Unit and into the project work of Welthungerhilfe worldwide.

Your responsibilities

  • Support in assuring quality of proposals and reports for institutional donors (public donors, UN agencies, development banks,…)
  • Support in Relation Management and handling of institutional funding, in particular funding of German public donors
  • Creation of best practice solutions and support of knowledge management for the development of project and program proposals
  • Support of the strategy development of the Institutional Donor Relations Unit
  • Participation in thematic working groups within the Institutional Donor Relations Unit and the program department

Your profile

  • A university or college degree in social sciences, development policy, international relations, economics or a related field
  • Initial experience in the planning and implementation of development cooperation or humanitarian aid measures, e.g. within the framework of an internship
  • Sound ability of editingtexts and reports
  • Good coordination and organisational skills
  • Team spirit and good communication skills
  • Ability to work in an intercultural environment and to cooperate with colleagues from other countries and cultures
  • Very good command of spoken and written German and English; French language skills would be ofgreat advantage
