1. Objective of the assignment
Support the work of the WIPO Judicial Institute in providing judicial resources for the IP judicial community. The ICS is expected to provide support in reviewing drafts of the various publications, researching and writing new content, coordinating internal reviews, and liaising with external partners to produce final products to be published as WIPO publications.
The assignment is limited in duration and is intended to address the ad hoc projects listed below.
2. Deliverables/services
a) Support the development of the WIPO African Regional IP Benchbook, a publication produced in partnership with African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO), ARIPO member states and United States Department of Justice. The first part of this publication is expected to be released before the end of 2024.
The ICS will:
In the above tasks, the ICS will engage in substantial re-writing of text to achieve consistent structure, language and style of all text, for approval by the editorial team / working committee. The ICS will also coordinate with the working committee and editorial team to oversee the project timeline, request any outstanding content, copies of legislation and cases, and coordinate receipt of new manuscripts and content.
b) The ICS will support the production of the second volume of the WIPO Collection of Leading Judgments on Intellectual Property Rights People’s Republic of China (2011–2018), which will contain summaries (in Chinese and English) of recent IP judgments (from 2019 to 2024) rendered by courts of the People’s Republic of China. The ICS will:
c) Provide general programmatic support for the work of the WIPO Judicial Institute during the assignment period, including support in creating case summaries of judgments that will be presented in the WIPO IP Judges Forum that will be held on October 9 – 10, 2024.

5. Duration of contract and payment
June 10, 2024, to November 9, 2024, the contract may be renewed upon satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
The applicant shall provide an indication of their remuneration expectations in Swiss Francs (daily rate).
