Work Location

• Assist in the implementation of the KMSS liaison services strategy within the ECA Division/SROs and IDEP, ensuring a common understanding on the role, function, and practice of knowledge management across the Commission.
• Assisting in the provision of knowledge profiling and research support services to ECA staff, by ensuring that their needs and expectations are met in a timely manner.
• Assist in the implementation of a marketing strategy for ECA Knowledge Services and products, ensuring maximum visibility and accessibility of these resources both within ECA, the UN and member states.
• Assist in mainstreaming knowledge management within the ECA work programme, working closely with the various subprogrammes and ensuring that knowledge management is integrated into all programmes from the initiation to the completion of all projects. • Assist in drafting, compiling and proofreading KMSS multimedia content, including brochures, fact sheets, KMSS website content, newsletters, videos, animated videos, photos, social media for online and offline marketing. • Assist in preparing monthly statistical reports, using metrices and analytics to measure the usage and performance of ECA knowledge products and services. • Assist in content development for KM platforms including KMSS website and affiliated divisional microsites with timely, relevant, engaging, and innovative content, to raise awareness of ECA’s knowledge services and products. • Assist in the preparation and implementation of ECA/KMSS knowledge sharing activities including knowledge fairs, in-house library displays, proactively supporting ECA divisions in the dissemination of new publications as well as organising cultural activities, including exhibitions and Library tours, geared towards ensuring that ECA knowledge resources are visible, accessible and use to support the achievement of the SDGs and other development agendas. • Assist in the preparation and publication of KMSS promotional materials, including monthly E-resources, digests, KMSS announcements etc. • Assist in conducting a users’ survey to identify KMSS users, their profile, needs and level of satisfaction, to inform decision-making and service effectiveness and efficiency. • Perform other assignments requested by the supervisors and related to KMSS mission and activities. Qualifications/special skills
– First-level university degree in Information Management, Library Sciences or related area to Knowledge Management or equivalent related fields. – Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advanced course work, or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship. Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
