Job Description

Looking for a role that makes a real difference? We are looking for a full-time learning and development go-getter to join our People & Culture Team! At Save the Children Australia, we are passionate about protecting and advancing the rights of children. We are on a mission to find a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning and Development Coordinator to join our team. If you’re committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of children and are eager to facilitate learning and growth, we want you on our team.

Save the Children is no ordinary not-for-profit.

We’re ambitious, creative and outspoken. We stand up for children’s rights. We want all children to be educated, healthy and live a life free from violence. We run programs in Australia and overseas and, if there’s a disaster – like an earthquake, drought or conflict – we are there on the ground.

Where you come in:

As a Learning and Development Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing our learning and development initiatives. In this full-time, maximum-term 10-month position*, you’ll join the enthusiastic and engaged Talent and Organisational Development team. Reporting to our Head of Talent and Organisational Development, your primary responsibilities will revolve around managing our LMS efficiently and coordinating training programs seamlessly. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth within our organisation. You’ll be ideally based in our head office in Carlton, though other locations will be considered.

You will make an impact by:

  • Coordinating and assisting with the delivery of learning and development programs for managers and employees.
  • Working with colleagues in Save the Children Australia, Pacific and internationally to develop/access learning materials and share best practices.
  • Assisting with initiatives such as our annual Careers Week and Employee Values Award process.
  • Overseeing the learning management system (LMS), including educating managers and employees on how to access training and reporting on course completion.
  • Maintaining the learning and development pages of the intranet.

Does this sound like you?

Your passion for delivering good customer service sees you coaching managers and employees on accessing training. You’re highly accountable, with a strong focus on continuous improvement, and view tasks with a customer-centric approach. Initiative and self-direction are two attributes that resonate with you, and you have a keen interest in coordinating learning.

This role requires:

  • Previous experience in training coordination.
  • Experience in reporting on learning and development activities.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Sound communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and concisely to multiple audiences.
  • Ability to identify areas for process improvement initiatives.
  • Enthusiasm for learning new concepts and tasks, with a view of improving skills.

Working at Save the Children is more than just a job.

It’s the feeling of knowing that your work is contributing to making the world a better place for children and working with others who feel the same. In addition to a connection to social causes, you will have access to:

  • Internal employment and development opportunities
  • Flexible working, including the ability to work from home (WFH)
  • Pet-friendly work environment
  • Child-friendly work environment
  • Support for workplace wellness, including access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
