Role Purpose

The role of Legal Operations Associate sits within the OGC Operations division. OGC Operations supports the General Counsel and OGC in strategic planning, work intake and resource management, hiring and professional development, learning and communications, continuous process improvement and optimization, general administration as well as housing the Corporate Secretariat function that is responsible for governance support.

Key Responsibilities

As Legal Operations Associate, you will:

  • Work in OGC’s Legal Support Team providing general, high level legal and administrative support, requiring discretion, confidentiality, and a detailed knowledge of the network’s operations, procedures, and people
  • Assist attorneys with managing and prioritizing the daily workload and adjusting for revised priorities, including collecting prep materials in advance of meetings and preparing meeting materials
  • Perform legal tasks under supervision and follow compliance-related processes
  • Act as support/ coordination role for ongoing OGC projects including managing logistics, agenda setting, coordinating action items, and deliverables
  • Provide general administrative support for the Office of the General Counsel including, coordination of team meetings and logistics, scheduling, invoicing, assistance with travel and expenses, and other administrative duties
  • Research, prioritize, and follow up on incoming issues and concerns, including vendor management
  • Build and establish strategic relationships with other operational departments within OSF

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Educated to a degree level (or equivalent)

Experience

Essential:

  • Substantial experience as Legal Assistant or Executive Assistant position; held within a law firm or in a legal department
  • Experience and record of accomplishments with duties requiring attention to detail, high degrees of organisation and willingness to work simultaneously on a wide range of tasks and projects

 

Desirable:

  • Experience working in complex international structure and/or the non-profit field a plus.
  • Familiarity with legal concepts and vocabulary
  • Project Management experience
