Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Coordinator of the GlobE Network, the individual contractor will: • Backstop and contribute to the organization and follow up to the seventh Steering Committee meeting of the GlobE Network, and to the organization and follow up of the fifth GlobE plenary meeting, to the meetings of the GlobE Thematic Working Groups and Secure Communications Platform Task Force by formatting documentation, saving files on the SharePoint, monitoring the team mailbox, preparing communication concerning matters related to the organization and following-up of the meetings. • Provide support to the organization of GlobE knowledge sessions. • Provide support to the monitoring and reporting of the activities of the GlobE Network. • Provide support to the development of policy papers, guidebooks, and fact-based analysis, as well as knowledge products tailored to the needs of the Network and contribute to the content of an online one-stop hub for sharing knowledge and information by collecting background information to support the work of the substantive colleagues in the team. • Prepare briefing notes and presentations for the management level of UNODC, donors and others, as required.
Qualifications/special skills
A high school diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of three years of working experience in general or international law, rule of law or similar area is required. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are required. Experience in legal drafting is required. Experience in working on anti-corruption and other economic crimes, transnational organized crime, or related areas, is desirable. Experience with legal research, in particular in areas related to international cooperation, law enforcement and asset recovery is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an advantage.
