JOB DETAIL

Result of Service
• Develop an individual work plan. • In liaison with programme managers and using existing layouts and templates to ensure coherent visuals with previous publications, present cohesive, coherent, and creative design for the upcoming publications under the Kiganjo Project, the Gneder project and BMM III project, and any other TOC project including banners, templates for concept notes, factsheets, reports, notebooks, pocket folders, pens, social media cards etc. • Finalize all digital and print designs in line with decisions elaborated through an iterative consultative process; • Ensure that all products, documents, materials, and events give appropriate visibility to respective donors, including the correct application of logos, acknowledgement statement and standard disclaimers.

Duties and Responsibilities
Under direct supervision of the Head of the Transnational Organized Crime, Illicit Trafficking, and Terrorism Prevention Programmes (Programme Management Officer) and in close consultation with the TOC Communications Expert, the Individual contractor will perform the tasks aimed at supporting visibility and advocacy of the Transnational Organized Crime and Terrorism Programmes, through conceptualizing unique visual identities and designing graphics and layout for various publications, visibility materials, and other written outputs.
Qualifications/special skills
A high school diploma is required. A diploma in graphic design, visual communication, marketing and digital design, information technology, public relations, or a related discipline is an advantage. A minimum of 3 years of work experience with graphic design and visual communication is required; Demonstrated experience with graphic design (Portfolio) is required; Understanding of typography is required; Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud suit, including Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, as well as in Microsoft 365 software is required A minimum of 1 year work experience in an international development context is desirable Experience in supporting rule of law, criminal justice or peace and security sector support programmes is desirable;
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations Secretariat language is an advantage.
