2.Timely reporting of support related concerns.
3.Organize and coordinate regular formal meetings with ATMIS to discuss logistics issues/requirements.
4.Raise CMR, ATRs and MOPs as and when required to facilitate the movement of commodities and personnel.
5.Update weekly all logistics support matrixes on the JSOC shared drive.
6.Produce visit reports.
7.Regularly update the relevant Sector fact sheet and briefing notes.

Duties and Responsibilities
This position is located in, Mission Support Center (MSC) within the United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS), based in Mogadishu, Somalia.
The logistics Assistant (Individual Contractor) will directly report to the deputy Chief of Joint Support Operations Center (JSOC), responsible for planning and coordinating logistics support to ATMIS throughout implementation of the Somali Transition Plan.
The Logistics Assistant (Individual Contractor) should be prepared to surge forwards where required, working closely with other JSOC Staff.
The logistics Assistant (Individual Contractor) will facilitate operational planning and will acquire a thorough understanding of all issues and support requirements pertaining to ATMIS. Essentially the incumbent will be a focal point for the coordination of UNSOS support to ATMIS.
Within the limits of delegated authority, the logistics assistant will perform the following duties:
Provide effective and timely planning, oversight, and support, to ensure effective provision and coordination of operational logistics with a focus on the Somalia Transition Plan.
Attend routine and operational meetings to liaise across stake holders in UNSOS and ATMIS to ascertain logistic requirements and coordinate day-to-day activity in support of Transition operations.
Monitor and report UNSOS support to ensure compliance with the UNSCR mandate, appraising ATMIS throughout. Maintain an in-depth understanding of the Somali Transition Plan and adjust support and planning appropriately.
Maintain effective liaison with ATMIS to ensure timely and accurate reporting from Sector and Force HQ to ascertain support requirements and inform JSOC reports.
Raise and approve where applicable; CMRs, ATRs and MOPs as and when required to facilitate the movement of commodities and personnel.
Visit Sector Hubs and FOB locations as required to understand support requirements to facilitate FOB Handovers and Closures in accordance with the Transition Plan.
Ensure that logistics requirements take account of gender-specific needs, understanding likely Transition implications and adjusting for these throughout.
Performs other related duties as required, including covering duties for other JSOC staff to ensure mission continuity throughout the Transition.
Qualifications/special skills
A minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of logistics or other related fields is required.
Experience in logistics support to military units and knowledge of tracking and updating inventory records is required.
Working experience in post conflict environment is desirable.
Languages
English is the working language of the United Nations. For this job, fluency in both verbal and written English is required.
