Job Overview:

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the specific coordination of logistical matters for NRC Afghanistan Country Office. The Logistics Coordinator with the support the office logistics systems setup, compliance and capacity building.

Generic Responsibilities:

  • Implement NRC’s logistical systems and procedures both in countries of responsibility
  • Ensure adherence to Logistics Handbook, other NRC policies and donor requirements
  • Provide anti-corruption, transparency and cost efficiency focus in all processes (e.g. in procurement, vehicle management, asset management)
  • Training and development of logistical team
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports and plans as required
  • Ensure proper filing of all logistics documents in all offices
  • Train and support project staff in procurement matters
  • Conduct compliance /stock spot checks
  • Conduct periodic stock counts

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all NRC Afghanistan’s logistics specific SOP’s are implemented and adhered to in all area offices
  • Ensure all procurements managed at the Country Office are conducted in a timely and effective manner as per NRC procurement regulations including, provide support in the tender processes led by Country Office Logistics
  • Follow Implement NRC’s logistical systems and procedures in the Country Office, Area offices and Field Offices
  • Provide support in the analysis of Stock Reports, physical stock counts and verification of assets, including analysis and guidance on discrepancies
  • Provide support in the analysis of Fleet and Engine Reports and guidance on discrepancies.
  • Provide monthly Checks and induction trainings/refresher on Logistics SSD and O365 filing system.
  • Provide monthly reports on all logistics activities and ensure logistics KPI’s are achieved, report posted on a timely manner on O365 for Logistics Managers/designated review
  • Ensure donor compliance and produce regular, timely and accurate logistics reports for NRC and donors.
  • Support in all aspects the Logistics teams in the country offices ensuring that logistics support is effective
  • Provide gap filling for senior logistics positions that become vacant within the area offices until such time the positions are filled
  • Provide refresher training on SOP’s to both logistics and programme staff

Generic Professional Competencies:

  • Experience from working as a Logistician or Logistics Coordinator in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Fluency in English, Dari and Pashtun both written and verbal
  • Good knowledge of logistics reporting systems
  • Good hands on experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Good knowledge of Logistics Procedures and regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with strong team player skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to travel extensively within Afghanistan
