CONTEXT OF THE POSITION
The French Red Cross is returning to Palestine for the first time since 2009 after recently obtaining funding from the Agence Francaise de Développement (AFD) for a five-year project.The project consists of supporting the strategic and programmatic development of Ibn Sina College of Health Sciences in Nablus, Palestine, through the redesign of the curricular to adapt it to international LMD standards, digitalization, modernization of simulations labs and creation of a continuous training center, a research Lab and PGI action plan.The French Red Cross will work in collaboration with the University of Montreal, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society and the Palestinian Ministries of Higher Education and Health.Located in the West Bank, Ibn Sina College currently welcomes currently 300 students and has the ambition to become a “leading college in nursing and midwifery, both locally and internationally, adopting the principles of lifelong learning for its students and health personnel, through curricula based on competencies, skills and practises based on scientific evidence”. Another component of the project includes the construction of a new school to welcome Ibn Sina College students; this part is managed by AFD directly.
A major player in the social and solidarity economy, the French Red Cross runs a network of more than 600 establishments and services in the health, medical and social sectors and in training. It also runs 12 regional health and social training institutes.Internationally, the FRC is active in 16 countries alongside National Societies and 2 regional platforms (PIRAC and PIROI), on the following themes Health and Disaster Risk Management.In the same way as in the activities that it develops and implements in France, the French Red Cross at the international level includes all its missions in a sustainable humanitarian action plan. This means that emergency, post-emergency, post-crisis and reconstruction activities are coordinated in order to be as effective as possible. The aim is to carry out actions with lasting effects and to enable the population to regain their full autonomy.Our association also wants to strengthen its presence and the promotion of its priority commitments within the International Movement.

Collaborates internally with: project managers and headquarters support services
Collaborates externally with the environment of the delegation (Palestine Red Crescent Society, local administrative authorities, CRCR Movement components, donors of ongoing projects, Others partners…)

Conditions of employment
Type of status: expatriate
Type of contract: Fixed-term contract under French law
Salary: According to the classification of the position on the CRf grid and the experience of the candidate
Per diem: daily per diem which varies according to the country
Leave: 10 to 15 days minimum every 6 months – Airfare paid at 100% by CRF for home travel
Health coverage: CFE + Mutuelle MSH (covered 100%) – covered at 75% by the CRF
MedEvac/repatriation insurance: YES
Other insurances: Provident insurance (death and disability)

Online training
To learn more about the Red Cross Movement, we invite you to follow two online training courses, free of charge and accessible to all. W.O.R.C. (World of Red Cross and Red Crescent): this course covers topics such as the origin and history of the Movement, its fundamental principles, the emblem, the International Federation, the ICRC and the national societies. QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor degree in Humanitarian Logistics.
Minimum of 2 years of demonstrable relevant experience in a similar position.
Strong skills in managing humanitarian supply chain, notably large scale purchase (including tenders)
Experience managing national staff
Experience and understanding of main donors logistics requirements (notably AFD).
Essential computer literacy (word, excel, internet).
Knowledge of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement
Knowledge and exposure to the social and cultural values of the region.
Pedagogy and coaching for the benefit of national staff
Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly
Strong inter-personal skills, and proven team-player
Able to solve complex problems and to exercise independent judgment
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Good analytical skills with good attention to detail
LANGUAGES
Written and oral English required
Written and oral Arabic preferred
Written and oral French preferred
REQUIREMENTS
Passport valid for more than 6 months at the time of departure
Up-to-date vaccination records / fitness to travel
