JOB DETAIL

Organizational Context and Scope: 

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) and Head of Resources Management (HRM) and direct supervision of the Senior Procurement and Logistics Assistant; and, in collaboration with relevant units at Headquarters and the Administrative Centres, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for managing the resources management functions in Country Office, Islamabad, Pakistan

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  1. Regularly inspects office premises and non-IT related assets and determine the repairs/maintenance works needed to be done. Submits report and recommendation on the repair/maintenance works needed
  2. Performs renovation/maintenance works on office premises (civil works, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, etc
  3. Implements preventive maintenance and minor trouble shooting works on non-IT related assets – e.g., generator, water pumps, heaters, air conditioning units, etc. Recommends to the major maintenance/repair works needed to be done of non-IT related assets.
  4. Coordinates with the Logistics Assistant to ensure availability of fuel for all generators and to monitor the fuel consumption of the units.
  5. Coordinates with Assets and Inventory Assistant in preparing purchase requests for maintenance spare parts and consumables. Prepare and submit utilization report to the Logistics Unit
  6. Any other duty within the incumbent’s capabilities as assigned by the Logistics Assistant

Required Qualifications and Experience 

EDUCATION 

  • Completed High school / Secondary school education with two years of relevant experience.
  • Certificate/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related area with three years of relevant professional experience.

EXPERIENCE 

•     At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position

Languages1 

IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish.

REQUIRED 

For this position, fluency in English and Urdu is required (oral and written).

DESIRABLE 

Working knowledge of provincial languages is an advantage.
