Job Profile

The incumbent will lead in developing and implementing external engagement strategies in order to strengthen WVLs position locally and increase its brand recognition. He or She will contribute to the development and implementation of the national advocacy action plan for World Vision Lanka in alignment with the national office strategy. Additionally, he or she will explore ways of creating new opportunities for the external parties to engage with World Vision Lanka (WVL).

Major Responsibilities

• Landscape the External Engagement role and scope of WVL to realize the country strategy.
• Map and develop the strategy with technical Advisors to advocate line ministries on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) achievements
• Map and develop the strategy to identify ideal private sector and international donors to collective advocacy at National level.
• Identify the Advocacy role and scope of WVL to realize the country strategy.
• Identify staff capacity gaps and develop the capacity building plan on Advocacy and SDG.
• Lead the capacity building process of Advocacy Strategic Measures (ASM) at national and local level.
• Map the External engagement landscape and develop the External engagement plan of Ending Violence Against Children (EVAC).
• Identify the Media engagement scope and strategy to execute WVL advocacy and EVAC.
• Guide and develop the capacity of the team for the Annual Business plan.
• Develop the Advocacy – IRDM integrated plan

Required qualifications, experience & competencies

• A minimum of 10 years of previous experience working in relief or advocacy field, developing policy papers and networking at the national level.
• Master Degree in Social sciences, development studies, law or relevant field.
• Experience in external engagement with donors, NGOs, UN agencies, ministries etc.
• At least two years of professional experience in senior management positions.
• Good research, policy analysis and report writing skill.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills in English and Sinhala/ Tamil.
