The Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to our mission of saving lives and reducing the burden of disease in low-and middle-income countries. We work at the invitation of governments to support them and the private sector to create and sustain high-quality health systems.
CHAI was founded in 2002 in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic with the goal of dramatically reducing the price of life-saving drugs and increasing access to these medicines in the countries with the highest burden of the disease. Over the following two decades, CHAI has expanded its focus. Today, along with HIV, we work in conjunction with our partners to prevent and treat infectious diseases such as COVID-19, malaria, tuberculosis, and hepatitis. Our work has also expanded into cancer, diabetes, hypertension, and other non-communicable diseases, and we work to accelerate the rollout of lifesaving vaccines, reduce maternal and child mortality, combat chronic malnutrition, and increase access to assistive technology. We are investing in horizontal approaches to strengthen health systems through programs in human resources for health, digital health, and health financing. With each new and innovative program, our strategy is grounded in maximizing sustainable impact at scale, ensuring that governments lead the solutions, that programs are designed to scale nationally, and learnings are shared globally.
At CHAI, our people are our greatest asset, and none of this work would be possible without their talent, time, dedication and passion for our mission and values. We are a highly diverse team of enthusiastic individuals across 40 countries with a broad range of skillsets and life experiences. CHAI is deeply grounded in the countries we work in, with majority of our staff based in program countries. Learn more about our exciting work: http://www.clintonhealthaccess.org

Team Overview:
The Global Diagnostics Team (GDT) strives to enable greater access to essential diagnostics that improve health outcomes in a cost-effective way. In particular, GDT works closely with Governments, global stakeholders and manufacturers to build a healthier marketplace to ensure access to high-quality, affordable diagnostics for COVID-19, HIV, cervical cancer, tuberculosis (TB), malaria, hepatitis, diabetes, sickle cell disease and overall critical diagnostics delivery services in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). GDT takes a patient-centric and holistic approach that focuses on improving service delivery systems and introducing innovative diagnostic technologies where needed.
GDT helps establish the conditions to support high-quality diagnostic systems, especially for primary healthcare. We work closely with government partners to inform national testing strategies and implement innovative approaches and solutions to improve service delivery, including by building more optimal diagnostic networks that maximize testing coverage and referral to care. We work with manufacturers and other partners to inform and expedite commercialization of innovative diagnostic solutions and create a pathway for adoption in LMICs at affordable pricing conditions.
Position Overview:
This Diagnostics (Dx) Market Shaping Manager will support GDT’s market shaping activities across multiple disease and program areas (i.e. HIV, TB, MNCH), and across a portfolio of product categories (i.e. RDTs, molecular testing and sequencing) by driving forward the analytical work required to thoughtfully design and implement strategies to secure supply of critical essential diagnostics for LMICs at affordable conditions. The Dx Market Shaping Manager will also play a critical role in building trust-based, productive relationships with both internal stakeholders and external stakeholders (e.g., donors, suppliers, procurers, other technical partners, etc.) to support GDT’s market access goals.
The Dx Market Shaping Manager will support the collection and analysis of data from a variety of sources such as governments, manufacturers, procurers and technical agencies. The Dx Market Shaping Manager will be responsible for developing rigorous market analyses (i.e. landscaping analysis, pricing analysis, demand forecasts) and then effectively distilling and communicating key strategic recommendations based on these analyses to support investment decisions by suppliers, country programs, donors, and other key stakeholders. Through this role, the Dx Market Shaping Manager will develop and maintain collaborative relationships with multiple teams within CHAI as well as with diagnostics suppliers and other key leaders within the diagnostics space.
For this Manager position, we are seeking a highly motivated, entrepreneurial individual with outstanding analytical capabilities, problem-solving skills, and communication abilities. The Market Shaping Manager must be comfortable synthesizing large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data into thoughtful recommendations and communicating those recommendations effectively to different audiences. The Dx Market Shaping Manager must also be able to drive forward projects independently, balance multiple priorities simultaneously, and work effectively across a range of stakeholders.
This role will be based in a CHAI Program Country pending leadership approval. This role will require up to 25% travel.
